Thorough inspection
Tread depth measured, sidewalls checked for damage, bulges and repairs. We fit tyres we would be comfortable using ourselves.
Part worn tyres
When budget is tight, part worn tyres can be a practical option. We only sell tyres that pass our checks, and we will tell you honestly if new tyres are the better choice.

Overview
Part worn tyres are legal in the UK when they meet minimum tread depth and condition standards. At Sudbury Tyre, we treat them seriously — not as a way to shift stock, but as a genuine option for drivers who need a safe replacement at a lower cost.
Every part worn tyre is inspected for tread depth, age, damage and overall condition before it goes anywhere near a wheel. If it does not meet our standards, it does not get sold.
We will also be upfront if part worn is not the right answer for your car — for example if you need matching tyres on an axle, or if wear suggests an underlying alignment issue.

FAQ
They can be, when they are properly inspected and meet legal standards. Safety depends on condition and tread depth — that is why we check every tyre individually and refuse anything substandard.

We generally advise against mixing significantly different tyres on the same axle. Call us with your situation and we will recommend the most sensible approach.
If part worn stock in your size is limited, if your other tyres are worn unevenly, or if the car needs matching tyres for safety, new may be the better option. We would rather tell you that upfront.
